Sandia Martin, Founder & CEO
Sandia Martin, the visionary behind Amata Green, is passionately committed to environmental stewardship and transforming farming into a regenerative practice. Since founding Amata Green in 2015, she has guided the company to notable achievements, including securing a semifinalist position in Indigo Ag’s "Terraton Challenge" for her pioneering concept of mobile pyrolysis for middle-America farmers. The Terraton Challenge was a 2019 challenge to the world to drawdown a terraton of C02 in agricultural soils. In 2023, Ms. Martin also led the company to secure a place in Germany’s prestigious RootCamp Business Accelerator.
Ms. Martin holds a J.D. and an Environmental Law Certificate from the University of Maryland School of Law. With a career rooted in sustainability, she has been a Sustainability Consultant and Agricultural Sustainability Subject Matter Expert since 2014. Under her leadership, Amata Green has also become a key consulting member of Companies Vs Climate Change, emphasizing climate change mitigation and insetting for global companies such as McDonalds and Disney Parks.
Today, Ms. Martin continues to lead Amata Green, steering its evolution from a sustainability consultancy to a trailblazer in biochar production.
Mrs. mihaela Strungariu, Partner
Mrs. Strungariu is a business woman, entrepreneur and problem-solver. Mrs. Strungariu is fluent in Spanish and English among other languages. Currently, she owns and is the Director of, a prominent language school in Spain. She holds a Bachelors Degree in University Alexandru Ioan Cuza, Iași, Romania, and was awarded the DELE proficiency level C2 by Instituto Cervantes as well as the English proficiency level C2 by Trinity College Exam London. As an Amata Green Executive Manager, Mrs. Strungariu handles matters of local project coordination, stakeholder outreach, sustainability instruction and people management.
Javier Bernal Perez
Mr. Bernal Perez is a graduate of the University of Seville with his Bachelor’s of Law. He also completed his Master’s of Law degree in International Business Law at St. Mary’s University in London. He is bilingual in Spanish and English. Mr. Bernal Perez handles matters of permitting, policy and legal matters at Amata Green.
Pyrolysis Engineer
Amata Green’s pyrolysis engineer joined Amata Green in the summer of 2022 and is our Mechanical Engineer with expertise in pyrolysis equipment and biochar methodologies. He has a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering and has worked as a Manager for the past 5 years doing design and development of pilot manufacturing facilities as well as organizing and running trials. He has also developed systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards.

Javier Gras Bio-Inspired Construction & Development
Mr. Gras currently contracts with Amata Green to oversee the sustainable development of the project. Mr. Gras is a Civil Engineer with a MSc in Structures from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, and a second Masters in Structure Design from the Illinois Institute of Technology of Chicago. The focus of his career as an engineer has been in the design and build of Transportation Infrastructure on an international scale. During his time with Ferrovial Construction (FC), he proposed innovative changes to the practice, exploring how they can begin to operate in a more regenerative way. This work led him to collaborate with the Innovation Department of FC and through this work, became a Bio-Leadership Fellow. Javier is a team member of the Bio-Leadership Project, helping companies to become sustainable and regenerative, and leading a project in the organizational development of Bio-Leadership Project. Mr. Gras will assist in the creation of the Amata Green facilities that give back to Earth.
Kara de los Reyes Bio-Inspired Architecture & Development
Ms. Reyes contracts with Amata Green to oversee the sustainable development of the project. Ms. Reyes is a chartered Architect in the United Kingdom, with a M.Arch and Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Studies. She founded TerraLupa in 2020, a platform for ecological regeneration and re-establishing our connection to nature. The foundation of her work is in sharing a design practice that promotes positive integration with local ecosystems and community. She has worked in the commercial architecture sector for 18 years and has experience in design and delivery of medium-to large scale architectural projects in various sectors - education, public sector, commercial, commercial-residential, hotel and leisure. The current focus of her work is in sustainable and regenerative master-planning.
